Sleaty Church

Sleaty Church is a ruin of a medieval church with a local history reaching 7th Century, when 60 of the monks living in the monastery across the river died and St. Fiacc moved to this estate. One of the most famous abbots living in this monastery was Aodh who was one of the first biographers of St. Patrick. Last reference to the monastery was mentioned in 1055.
