Clogrennan Lock

Clogrennan Lock known as a common fishing spot is also a great opportunity to walk and see majestic scenery of Co. Laois. Used to be a swimming spot too but now warning signs can be seen to prevent public jumping in. Barrow track starts from Milford and ends in Carlow Town. Visitors can spot a range of plants such as Guelder-rose, Hazel and Spindle that are perfect example of bio-diversity in local area. Birds are able to feed on the previously mentioned plants due to their autumn fruit giving nature. Lucky few might have a chance to witness Kingfisher nesting along the banks of the river. The parking is also located near the Lock where visitors can leave their vehicles and start the walk.
