Aslan headlines Saturday night of The Old Fort Quarter Festival 2022, as part of their 40th Anniversary nationwide tour that culminates with a headline performance in the 3 Arena in September. We are delighted to work with MCD to secure this huge gig. Aslan came together as a band in 1982, which means they are forty years together in 2022 - an amazing achievement for any band. Over the forty years they have had numerous chart successes, toured the world, broken up, made up and given us some classic songs such as This Is and Crazy World. Today, Aslan continue to entertain the masses in many of Ireland’s and the UKs premier venues.
The route of either 10km or 5km will take you cross-country through some of Ireland’s last surviving ancient woodlands at Abbey Leix House and Farm Estate. It’s rough terrain, so be prepared. Start Times: 10k Route - 12pm, 5k Route - 12.15pm.

The showgrounds are located in Coolfin, Kilbreedy, Rathdowney, County Laois, in the heart of Ireland.

The Abbeyleix Garden Fete will take place this August Bank Holiday Monday, at 2pm at the Rectory Gardens, Abbeyleix, (opposite the Abbeyleix Tennis Courts). It always promises to be a great family day out with a selection of stalls including bric a brac, home baking, book stalls, plants and lots of fun an activities for kids.
There will also be a new Fête photographic competition this year. The categories are i) colour & ii) black and white with the theme "Abbeyleix Shopfronts & Monuments”. You must enter a print (no mounts needed) size 10 x 8 inches. Bring your prints along on the day. Open to All.
