Timahoe Heritage Festival is on 4th & 5th of June in Timahoe Heritage Centre, Co Laois with lots of family fun and entertainment! Throughout the day the children will get to see our Viking Coin Making Workshop where we will demonstrate how Ireland’s first coin was minted while learning all about ancient trade and commerce in medieval Ireland. The School of Irish Archaeology is proud to introduce their workshops and coin striking is designed around children from 5 – 12 years of age.

Our mission is to educate young people about Ireland’s rich ancient culture. We bring the past to life through practical, interactive experiences in a hands-on learning environment. Our workshops are original and dynamic concept, which allows children to explore the excitement of archaeology in a fun and enjoyable setting.

We ensure this educational and one of a kind experience won’t leave your children disappointed. We guarantee it will leave them wanting to know much more about ancient crafts and technologies and who our ancient ancestors were!
