The Alphabet of Birds – Leaves Festival
3rd November @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm€12 – €15
The Alphabet of Birds is a wonderful hybrid event combining a live spoken essay by its author Sara Baume, short film screenings featuring artists Gary Coyle, Laura FitzGerald, Natalia Beyliss and Sara herself going about their daily local routines of making art on the land and at sea, as well as music quietly performed live by Irene Buckley.
Sunday Mass and sea swimming; bird alphabets and stone collecting; Goya and Monet; the Writer and artist Sara Baume covers a wide ground from Stations of the Cross and the Sacred Heart of Jesus; bedrooms and bedsits; insomnia and parental love…Her work is a hymn to the ordinary, quiet, the quotidien. The Alphabet of Birds is a Holy Show production.
