What’s On Guide
From ancient festivals in the Slieve Bloom Mountains to modern day merry-making, Laois has enjoyed a party more than most for thousands of years. With over 60 events happening each month , you are most definitely invited to celebrate with us.
And from major international music weekends to local fiestas covering everything from scarecrows and storytelling, to drama and literature, you’re sure to find your tribe. For the outdoor enthusiast there’s weekly guided walks, runs and cycles. Come join us as we celebrate the length and breadth of the county – morning, noon, and night…

Portlaoise Library’s Literature Circle
28th September @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
FREE
Our first meeting will take the form of a Poetry Circle, with poetry readings by staff members, conversation, tea and coffee. If you would like to bring along a poem and have it read by a staff member, or even if you would like to read it yourself, please feel free. Also, if you love the social aspect of book clubs, but don’t want to commit to reading a whole book, our regular Literature at Eleven events could be just the thing for you.
