Pedalling Poetry with Durrow Community Bike Hire Scheme
22nd May @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
A leisure cycle, interspersed with poetry, prose, storytelling and music.
Re-enactment of the visit of renowned Irish poet, Thomas Kinsella, to Durrow in the 1950s.
Hear the unique poem he wrote about the visit and witness the unveiling of a historic collage of photographs to mark that special occasion.
Venue: Banks of the River Erkina at Bobs.
2pm sharp – Peddling Poetry Country Roads Cycle
Leisure Cycle Route: Attanagh – Fermoyle Cross – Ballinakill Road – Durrow. 10k approx
3.15pm – River Erkina Re – enactment and Thomas Kinsella Poem Recital with Sean Conroy
3.45pm – Unveiling of Thomas Kinsella Illustration with Muireann Ní Chonaill Laois County Council Arts Officer
4pm – An evening of Poetry and Music at Bob’s Hideout ( Admissions to Bob’s Hideout event by ticket only)
