Look! It’s a Woman Writer with Éilis Ní Dhuibhne, Phil Herbert and Celia de Fréine – Leaves Festival

6th November @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

€12 – €15

How did Ireland finally begin to value women writers? What kept women going who for so long went unnoticed in the official literary world of Ireland, left out of the canon? Éilis Ní Dhuibhne edited the book Look! It’s a Woman Writer. She asked 21 women who were born in mid-20th century Ireland to relate their writing lives. Their accounts are fascinating, funny, provocative, angry, resolute. She will be joined by Phil Herbert and Celia de Fréine, contributors to the book. This event is unmissable for everybody who wants to know how far we have come and the roles of these trailblazers in great change.
