On Culture Night, Friday, September 22nd, 2023, at 9.30pm, the legendary Suffolk native will bring his unique, twisted blend of country and western music to the people of Laois, playing tunes from his latest album Holey Holey and forthcoming release Promises Promises. Admission is free.
Country Music in Laois: Hank Wangford and the Messages
Iconic C&W legend Hank Wangford comes to Stradbally Library on Culture Night, Friday, September 22nd, 2023, at 9.30pm for a live show with his band, the Messages.
The twisted Godfather of the English alternative country music scene has been picking at the dark and troubled soul of country music for more than thirty years. The show will feature songs from Hank’s latest album Holey Holey, and shiny new tracks from his forthcoming album, Promises Promises.
This is the latest of a long list of Irish gigs for Hank – he joined forces with Leitrim writer and performer Seamus O’Rourke, for two Irish shows last year.
