Portlaoise Library is pleased to welcome acclaimed Irish illustrator David Rooney for an illustrated talk on The Great Irish Famine & Other Stories. Through scraperboard illustration, Rooney brings history to life, visually exploring Ireland’s most pivotal era. His work has featured in projects such as the BBC’s Story of Ireland, Titanic Experience, and King John’s Castle. His latest book, The Story of the Great Irish Famine is his first for children.
