Free
Join us for the launch of Laois – The Irish Revolution, 1912-23 by Cormac Moore, a powerful exploration of how Laois navigated the turbulent years of the Irish Revolution. This book delves into how Laois experienced key national events, from the third home rule crisis and World War I to the 1916 Easter Rising, the War of Independence, and the Civil War. It examines the separatist movement’s efforts to establish a counter-state, the role of the county’s transport network, the impact of boycotting, and the reasons why Laois saw more bloodshed during the Civil War than during the War of Independence.
