Kellyville Lake

Kellyville Lake is a man-made lake of approximately 12 acres, which existed on the Webber Estate at Ballintubbert near Stradbally in County Laois and was the location of the most successful Duck Decoy in Ireland operating in the period 1870 – 1910. Thomas Webber wrote in 1891 of between six and seven thousand ducks on the lake. It had silted up and it had become overgrown with vegetation over the years. The lake has now been fully restored and will be stocked with coarse fish. It is a perfect walk with small children.
