DURROW SCARECROW FESTIVAL

The community-run and nationally renowned Durrow Scarecrow Festival is back! With some of the most creative scarecrows around, entertainment for everyone in the family and a fabulous market, it is an event you definitely need to check out when you’re in Laois this Bank Holiday weekend.

Take a walk around the village and admire all the clever creations and attend some of the fun events happening throughout the festival.

NATIONAL STEAM RALLY 2022

The National Steam Rally in Stradbally is a fun-filled family-friendly event that is considered by many to be the premier event in the calendar of steam and vintage shows throughout Ireland. With a range of working exhibits, steam engines, vintage vehicles as well as a kids area, pet farm, dog show and much more, we’re certain you will find something that will keep every family member happy at the National Steam Rally. Conveniently located to the rear of Main Street, it’s one that can’t be missed.

BALLINTUBBERT GARDEN OPEN DAY

To celebrate becoming Ireland’s First Organic Certified Ornamental Garden, Ballintubbert House and Gardens are flinging the gates open for a series of open days this summer. One of these days is Sunday, July 31st from 12 noon to 5 pm. Come and spend the day in this place of wellness and peace. Wander through the formal organic gardens, run wild in the long meadow, play hide and seek in the woodlands and perhaps play skittles in the orchard. Teas, coffees and sumptuous cakes from the pop-up tea shop will also be offered on the day. With all this on offer, it’s a great place to meet in the middle this Bank Holiday weekend.

ABBEYLEIX ARTS FESTIVAL

The August Bank Holiday weekend will see Abbeyleix take on a weekend full of arts, music and entertainment for all. What’s not to love? Meet in the middle with friends and family to celebrate the weekend of Abbeyleix arts. Abbeyleix is the pinnacle of fun and there’s plenty to be had in this beautiful town this summer.
