Dunamaise Arts Centre, who celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2019, is the premier arts location in the Midlands and hosts a superb selection of Theatre, Music, Dance, Cinema, Exhibitions and Workshops each season. Located in the centre of Portlaoise town; Dunamaise Arts Centre is a jewel in the crown of Laois; and consists of a 240 seat theatre and cinema, art gallery, cafe and workshop spaces.
The arts centre welcomes a vast breadth of professional and amateur artists and productions to its stage, gallery and screen every year. A few significant memories from its repertoire include performances by Druid Theatre company and The Abbey, a visit from President Michael D. Higgins, a performance by The Chieftains and the receipt of Portlaoise born actor Robert Sheehan’s famous hoodie from RTE’s popular Love Hate series, which is proudly displayed at its Box Office and many more wonderful events. Cafe Latte is a light filled space serving homecooked local food. A perfect spot to have a bite to eat.
