July brings up over 150 events including one of our biggest festivals, The Scarecrow Festival. There’s also The Folly Festival in Cullohill and The Laois Walks Festival at locations right across the county, The Ossory Show, the longest running agricultural show. Along with this are lots of kids activities, camps and workshops. As well as 150 organised events there’s also the wonderful Laois countryside and attractions to see like The Rock of Dunamaise, Timahoe Tower, The Slieve Blooms, Abbeyleix Bog, Heywood Gardens, The Laois Garden Trail and so much more. Most are free and well worth exploring.
